Individually Adjustable Reservation Duration for Slot Bookings
The new function allows you to set the duration of the reservation time for slot bookings individually for each CargoMarket. As soon as a carrier opens the booking screen, the selected slot is reserved for a period of time defined by the administrator (from 5 to 10 minutes). Until now, this time period was fixed and only reserved for five minutes. After this defined period has expired, the reservation is automatically cancelled: the slot becomes visible and bookable again for other carriers. At the same time, a red message appears in the booking screen indicating that the selected slot is no longer reserved for the carrier. On the one hand, this prevents individual users from blocking slots without booking in time. On the other hand, the user has enough time to fill in all the required information in the booking screen.
This function is particularly advantageous when carriers have to provide additional and specific information during the booking process, which takes more time to obtain or enter – for example, in configurations where many mandatory fields have to be filled in or several documents have to be uploaded. This gives users more convenience, transparency and security, as they can enter all the necessary information correctly without the slot expiring in the meantime.
Each CargoMarket administrator can set the desired time frame themselves by logging in under My CargoClix > Time slots. At the CargoMarket level, the desired time can be maintained in the ‘Slot blocking time for new bookings’ area.
