Transport logistic 2023: Cargoclix shows modular solutions for process digitalisation at logistics locations

(Freiburg i.Br., 24 April 2023) A multifaceted construction kit for optimizing processes in logistics: at the transport logistic trade fair in Munich (9 to 12 May) in Hall A5, Stand 219, the software specialist Cargoclix from Freiburg im Breisgau will show how ramps can be innovatively organized and solutions for the digital gate individually implemented. “Whether time window management, a contactless check-in or the general tendering of transport and logistics contracts: With us, customers can select according to their personal wishes which individual components they need to optimize their ramp processes and for handling control and which specific functions they would like to use,” says Professor Dr. Victor Meier, consulting partner at Cargoclix.

The basis of the versatile modular system is the cloud-based time slot management system SLOT, which now has more than 120,000 users at around 2,000 customer locations. The system is modularly adaptable, can be operated either web-based or fully integrated in ERP and warehouse management systems (WMS) and, at 50 cents per booking, is one of the cheapest and at the same time most powerful time slot management systems on the market.

Among other things, Cargoclix SLOT can be expanded with an additional module that generates the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of a vehicle through telematics data. With this function, ramp operators can see in good time whether a truck will arrive at its destination earlier or later than planned and adjust the handling processes if necessary. For this purpose, Cargoclix works together with the software specialists of PTV Group, TIMOCOM and Agheera. Every ten minutes, the tool retrieves the GPS location data of a truck and calculates the remaining journey time in the route planner. For data protection reasons, however, the truck’s position is not saved, but deleted immediately after the ETA calculation.

The SAFE CHECK-IN module, which will also be extensively presented at transport logistics, is still very new on the market. The app, which was presented for the first time in 2022, enables communication without media discontinuity between all actors involved in the delivery process and thus an even more efficient organization of truck handling at the ramp. The special feature: both automated and direct messages from the location to the driver are immediately and automatically translated into the native language of the driver. The process works the same way in reverse: if necessary, users can write a message to the logistics site in their language and it is automatically translated into the language of the site operator. Direct contact between the employees of a location and the driving personnel is, thus, no longer necessary; freight documents can also be exchanged and signed digitally if desired.

The supplementary module TERMINAL with all the possibilities of an electronic gate offers an additional simplification for the organization of the gate. As an alternative to using their own mobile phone as with SAFE CHECK-IN, drivers can also log in via a permanently installed tablet or terminal PC in their own language. Ramp operators can also integrate checklists that are confirmed by the driving personnel via checkbox and signature on the tablet. TERMINAL can be precisely adapted to individual workflows and makes driver registration much easier.
