Baier & Schneider launches TimeSlot

The Baier & Schneider GmbH & Co. KG has been awarding timeslots for deliveries to the “Böllinger Höfe” logistics centre north of Heilbronn since the beginning of January. With the web-based Cargoclix TimeSlot system, the stationery manufacturer – known by the Brunnen brand – wants to end the truck jam in incoming goods and make the processes faster and more efficient.  

Baier & Schneider sets the free loading dates for all ramp positions in TimeSlot and the forwarding agents book their desired delivery time. Bookings can be made ten days in advance until 2 p.m. on the day before delivery. A total of up to 20 trucks are unloaded daily at the five ramps. To enable the company to keep the unloading processes as short as possible, a number of dynamic criteria have been preset and clicked on by the forwarder. These include the number of pallets, type of container or pallet exchange.

Baier & Schneider GmbH & Co. KG, based in Heilbronn, is a stationery manufacturer that sells over 7000 products under its “Brunnen” trademark. With a production volume of more than 17,000 tons per year, the Schneider Group is one of the largest paper recycling companies in Europe. The group produces millions of exercise books, calendars, pads, business and notebooks as well as gift wrap paper at three German and one Swiss location each year and thus generates a turnover of more than 130 million euros per year.
