As reported by the Freiburg Internet marketplace Cargoclix, provider of the modular time slot management system SLOT, the number of bookings in the food and automotive sectors during the first three lockdown weeks in November was almost at the same level as the previous year. This was the result of an internal analysis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The situation had looked completely different during the first lockdown at the end of March. According to the analysis, manufacturers and retailers of food and beverages had booked 21 percent more time slots for loading and unloading trucks in the last week of March than in the last week of February and had reacted to so-called hamster purchases. The supply chains of the car manufacturers and those of their suppliers, on the other hand, were noticeably disrupted by the coronavirus. During the lockdown in the first week of April, according to Cargoclix, almost 50 percent fewer time slots were booked in this area than in the last week of February &#8211; some companies even reserved no slots at all during this time. The booking costs can be borne either by the site operators or their logistics service providers.
